Port Credit Farmers' Market

Port Credit, Ontario

Toronto - August 16, 2021 - On a gorgeous Saturday morning in July, I had a mission to visit four farmers’ markets in the west end of the GTA all in one day. My first stop was the much anticipated Port Credit Farmers’ Market. And boy was it a strong start, setting the bar for the day.

The Port Credit Farmers’ Market is organized by the Port Credit BIA. The market is located in a parking lot at the corner of Lakeshore Road East and Elmwood Avenue North, with colourful flags lining Lakeshore to emphasize the market’s presence. If you have ever driven through Port Credit, especially on Lakeshore, you can imagine that the quaint yet rustic look and feel of the neighborhood contributed to the atmosphere of the market. The second I stepped out of the car (with convenient parking right on Lakeshore) I felt welcomed and at home.

The market itself is home to a variety of interesting vendors including farms like Blyleven Farms and J&S Produce, as well as cured meats, breads, baked goods, dips and sauces, honey, artisans and handmade goods. On this particular Saturday morning, the market was bustling with locals doing their grocery shopping. After speaking to members of the BIA who were on site during the market, it seems that the traffic flow is the norm! The Port Credit Farmers’ Market typically gets 1,000 visitors per Saturday.

Visit the farmers’ market every Saturday between 8:00am and 1:00pm to see for yourself, going until October 9th! For more information, you can also visit their website.
