Pickering City Centre Farmers’ Market
Vaughan - September 11th, 2022 - On a sunny Tuesday morning in July, I was venturing east of Toronto and decided that the trek merited a visit to a farm or market that I wouldn’t otherwise come across. With a quick Google search, I was delighted to see that there was a local farmers’ market that happened to be open for business! I turned right onto Valley Farm Road from Kingston Road, then left into the parking lot of the Delaney & O'Brien Arena where the Pickering City Centre Farmers’ Market stood.
The lot was bustling with morning shoppers picking up their weekly groceries from the array of farmers, and chatting with the other vendors that included local bakers, preservative creators, and more! You probably saw my Vendor Highlight on social media about Purple Tongue Hot Sauce - well this is where I met Mike. Needless to say, I had great conversations with the vendors at this market, and walked away with a Harvest Hunters bag full of goodies.
The 2022 market season saw Pickering City Centre Farmers’ Market in a new location from previous years - nestled in the North East parking lot at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex at 1867 Valley Farm Road. The market happens every Tuesday starting from June to October between the hours of 9 am and 2 pm.
A great visit for locals and passer bys! Before your visit, check out their website for more information.
