Evergreen's Saturday Farmers Market

Toronto, Ontario

Vaughan - May 4th, 2022 - If you live in Toronto, you have definitely heard of Evergreen Brickworks. Maybe because I live in the burbs, but I had no idea of the breadth and depth of activations and events that come out of this place - including Evergreen's Saturday Farmers' Market! As soon as I started Harvest Hunters, however, I learned about the market and added it to the top of my list. And boy am I ever happy I did.

It was a gorgeous Saturday morning in September when I pulled into the parking lot at Evergreen Brickworks. The parking lot was jammed, but the smiling faces of those around me defused any sort of tension a busy parking lot usually causes. After finding a parking spot, I made my way to the market building (which is actually an outdoor landscape) and was greeted by a lineup wrapped around the building. The line was filled with an array of groups from families, to couples, to friends - all so interesting that the people watching made the line move very quickly. When I finally entered the market, I was absolutely blown away by the magic before my eyes.

From the gorgeous natural décor of its surrounding, to the huge volume of incredible vendors, I was like a kid in a candy store. There was also perfect Saturday-morning music playing throughout the market, adding to the aesthetic. The market had over 60 local farmers, producers, entrepreneurs and chefs.. Evergreen Brickworks also has a small garden centre on site which I visited after the market - adding a cherry on top of a perfect morning.

Evergreen's Saturday Farmers' Market is open year-round, connecting people in Toronto to local Ontario farmers and producers. You can find the Saturday Farmers Market outdoors from May to November, and indoors from November to April. This is a must visit. Check out the website for more info before you go!
