Dixie Orchards

Caledon, Ontario

Vaughan - October 9, 2022 - It was the Monday of labour day weekend, when I hopped in my car and headed west towards Caledon. The sun was shining and I was loving the view of driving past many farms and orchards along Dixie Road all the way north until I reached Dixie Orchards.

I pulled into the lot, and surprisingly it was relatively empty. However, this afforded me the opportunity to explore at my own pace and take photos. The farm was home to a large, red barn where they sell seasonal produce, baked goods, preservatives, home goods, etc., as well as sprawling acres of orchards open for pick-your-own apples.

Dixie Orchards offers a variety of pick your own apples available at different times throughout the season plus a large pick your own pumpkin patch. They also have a hazelnut orchard offering a unique experience where you can learn how to pick your own nuts. Fees beyond admission rely on what you pick - so be intentional with your picking! The whole family can also enjoy the corn maze, watching the farm animals play, posing for a picture or enjoying a snack from the market.

Dixie Orchards is located near the Caledon escarpment between the villages of Caledon East and Inglewood with plenty of options for hiking, dining or exploring. So make a whole day of your visit! Check out their website for more information.
